Not to be confused with the big Roman amphitheater that exists right next to it separated by the Hashemite Plaza. ==History== It was built the same time as the adjacent Roman amphitheater in 2nd Century AD. The theater was recently restored along with the neighboring Nymphaeum fountain. Archaeologists have speculated that the theater was most likely enclosed by a temporary wooden roof that shielded the audience from the weather.
